The Reality Behind Sustainable Products

Sustainable design is often assumed to be simple and inexpensive.
In reality, it involves far more thought, effort, and responsibility.

During our market research at SLAB Lab, we discovered that even small, functional tabletop products go through multiple stages of development, from material preparation and mold making to finishing and quality checks. Each stage requires careful handling, experimentation, and time.

Because our products are handcrafted and produced in small batches, our process does not depend on shortcuts or mass-production efficiencies. Instead, we work intentionally, using locally available materials, experimenting responsibly, and making conscious decisions to minimize waste at every step.

SLAB Lab is not built to compete with fast, factory-made décor. It is designed for individuals who appreciate thoughtful design, responsible production, and transparency in the making process.

At this stage of our journey, one lesson has become clear:
Sustainability is not about doing things cheaply; it is about doing them consciously.
