Behind the Process — Learning by Making
Share
At SLAB Lab, our work does not begin with a finished product.
It begins with curiosity, experimentation, and patience.
Working with marble slurry is rarely a linear process. Each batch behaves slightly differently, requiring us to observe, test, and adjust. From understanding material consistency and mold preparation to curing time and surface finishing, every step offers a new learning experience.
As a student-led initiative, SLAB Lab is built around exploration. Some experiments succeed, others fall short, but each attempt contributes to refining our process. We continuously balance functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability while remaining mindful of material usage and waste.
Much of this effort happens behind the scenes. It may not always be visible in the final product, but it is present in the details, the texture, the form, and the finish. These small refinements are the result of repeated trials and thoughtful decision-making.
SLAB Lab is still evolving, shaped by learning, iteration, and responsibility. This process-driven approach defines who we are and guides where we are headed.
